Bert Hobden, a Friend of St Andrew's Church, who was 94 , and had been a choir boy in the church in the 1920's passed away on 19th November 2009

 
In recent years Bert had fund raised and donated several thousand pounds to the Friends. He had played a central part in kick starting the fund raising efforts to have the heating system in the church refurbished.  He had taken a keen interest in all aspects in life, concerts and events at St Andrew's and will be very sadly missed.
